MEDIA PRO - Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Android application MEDIA PRO (package name: com.obdactiveexhaust.mediapro), developed and published by ARVION / Łukasz Bednarski. It explains what data and device permissions the application may access, why they are used, when information may leave the device, and how users can control or delete their data.
1. Privacy approach
MEDIA PRO is designed to keep as much user content as possible on the user's device. The application does not sell personal data and does not use user data for third-party advertising. MEDIA PRO does not contain advertising and does not require a recurring subscription.
Some optional functions can require an Internet connection or communication with external services. When the user intentionally uses such a function, only the information necessary to provide that function may be transmitted to the relevant service provider.
2. Data and permissions the app may access
- Bluetooth / Nearby devices: used to discover and communicate with compatible OBD or Bluetooth devices when the user chooses vehicle-related functions.
- Location: may be required by Android for Bluetooth scanning on some Android versions and may be used by location-dependent functions selected by the user. MEDIA PRO does not use location for advertising.
- Camera: used only for features that require image or video capture, such as the drive recorder, scanner or other camera-based tools.
- Microphone: used only for functions that record or process audio, such as the voice recorder or video recording with sound.
- Photos, videos, audio and files: used to import, open, create, save or manage media and files requested by the user.
- Notifications: used to show user-requested reminders, recording/service status and other important application information.
- Vehicle / diagnostic data: when connected to a compatible OBD device, MEDIA PRO may read diagnostic parameters and vehicle information required for the selected feature.
- User-created content: notes, recordings, imported media, settings and other content created inside the app may be stored locally on the device.
MEDIA PRO requests permissions only when they are needed for a feature. Users can deny or revoke permissions in Android system settings. Some features may then become unavailable.
3. How data is used
Data accessed by MEDIA PRO is used only to provide the functions requested by the user, including media playback and management, recording, diagnostics, Bluetooth/OBD communication, reminders, local tools, optional online functions and purchase entitlement verification.
MEDIA PRO does not build advertising profiles and does not sell personal or sensitive user data.
4. Internet and optional online services
Certain MEDIA PRO functions may use the Internet to retrieve online content, communicate with a service selected by the app, check information required by a feature, stream content, or process an optional online/AI request. When such a feature is used, technical request data and the content necessary to complete the request may be transmitted over the Internet.
Users should not submit unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information to optional online or AI functions. Data handled by an external provider is also subject to that provider's own privacy and security practices.
5. Google Play Billing and purchases
MEDIA PRO may offer a time-limited trial and one-time in-app purchases through Google Play. Payments are processed by Google Play. The developer does not receive or store the user's full payment card details. MEDIA PRO may receive purchase-related information such as product identifiers, purchase state and purchase tokens as necessary to verify and restore purchased access.
Purchase and transaction records maintained by Google are handled according to Google's own policies and legal obligations.
6. Data sharing
MEDIA PRO does not sell user data. Data may be shared only when necessary to provide a function chosen by the user, for example:
- with Google Play services for billing, licensing or platform functionality;
- with an online service provider when the user activates an online, streaming or AI-based feature;
- when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
Local recordings, notes, diagnostic information and media are not intentionally uploaded by MEDIA PRO unless the user chooses a function that requires transmission or sharing.
7. Data storage, retention and deletion
Most user-created content and application settings are stored locally on the user's device and remain there until the user deletes them, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the application. Files exported by the user to shared device storage may remain after uninstalling and must be deleted by the user using Android or another file-management tool.
MEDIA PRO does not require a MEDIA PRO user account. Therefore, there is no separate MEDIA PRO cloud account to delete. Purchase records processed by Google Play are retained by Google according to Google's applicable policies and legal requirements.
For optional online services, retention is determined by the service needed to provide the selected function and the relevant provider's policy.
8. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information handled by MEDIA PRO. Where data is transmitted to an online service, standard Android and network security mechanisms are used where supported. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children
MEDIA PRO is not directed to children under 13 years of age. The application is intended as a general-purpose utility and media/vehicle tool. The developer does not knowingly use MEDIA PRO to collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling.
10. User choices and controls
Users can control Android permissions at any time in the device settings. Locally stored MEDIA PRO data can be removed using the application's available delete functions, by clearing application storage, deleting exported files, or uninstalling the app. If a user has a privacy question or requests assistance concerning data associated with MEDIA PRO, the user can contact the developer at the address below.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when MEDIA PRO functionality, legal requirements or Google Play requirements change. The current version will be published at this same public URL and the date at the top of the policy will be updated.
